Ricardo Duarte

Ricardo Duarte finished his master degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Aveiro, Aveiro, Portugal in 2011. From 2011 to 2014 he was working as research fellow at the same institution in the field of biomechanics. Between 2014 and 2017 he developed his PhD at University of Bordeaux, Bordeaux, France in the field of product development applied to external medical devices. In 2017 he joined the I2M-IMC department at the University of Bordeaux as temporary auxiliary professor. In 2019 he joined the SipLab at the University of Algarve, Faro, Portugal as post-doc research fellow as part of the JONAS project (Joint Framework for Ocean Noise in the Atlantic Seas). He is interested in underwater noise sources as for example shipping and seismic and the generic aspects dealing with sound propagation in the ocean including its usage for environmental and biodiversity monitoring and preservation.
